Chapter 573: There’s a Misunderstanding
"Cough, cough, cough, cough..."
Feijia’s vision had already turned blood-red; he couldn't even see the figure walking toward him clearly. He tremblingly reached down to touch himself, only to find the area below his waist was completely empty.
Feijia’s pupils trembled. He turned his head with difficulty and saw his legs lying lonely a few meters away, already separated from his torso...
He hadn't even seen where the enemy was before he was cut in half by a single stroke.
Feijia considered himself a person of some standing; after all, across the nine great realms of humanity, few could reach the Sixth-Order. Yet now, he couldn't even see how he had been hit... This meant the white-clad figure carrying the eight-foot brush was likely an Eighth-Order.
Another Eighth-Order!!
As far as Feijia knew, there were only three Eighth-Orders in the entire Red Dust Realm. Now, to capture him, they had dispatched two at once, plus a bunch of Seventh-Orders... He was just a dark spy sent to the Red Dust Realm, yet he had inexplicably triggered a "Purgatory" difficulty mission.
Feijia was so frustrated he could explode. He cursed the ancestors of [Heart 6] to the eighteenth generation in his heart, but could only swallow his teeth along with his blood...
Using this last breath, he moved his body with difficulty using his hands, approaching the teleportation array within reach.
Scarlet blood flowed from Feijia’s half-body, leaving a shocking trail on the floor. He saw the array vaguely within reach and reached out toward it...
The next moment, a stroke of ink flashed before his eyes like a blade. His wrist felt light, and his entire palm was sliced off and fell to the ground.
"Ahhhhhhh..." Feijia’s painful wail rang out.
The white-clad figure stood before him like an insurmountable iceberg, carrying his brush. The oppressive feeling radiating from his lowered eyelids was suffocating:
"Do you... think I don't exist?"
Feijia’s eyes were filled with despair.
With an Eighth-Order blocking his path, Feijia knew he couldn't possibly leave alive. He watched his severed hand fall onto the surface of the array, trickling blood staining the patterns, and his remaining hand clenched involuntarily.
The man in white looked down at him coldly, his voice sounding like it came from the underworld:
"Besides blowing up the main city’s high-ranking officials at the venue, what other plans do you have? How many more of your people are about to enter the Red Dust?"
Feijia didn't answer. He stared intently at the array stained blood-red, injecting strands of spiritual energy into the floor beneath him. The next moment, the surface of the array actually emitted a faint glow!
"Hmm?"
The man in white felt the fluctuation behind him and frowned tightly. Before he could turn to look, Feijia had moved his body frantically, struggling toward the array!
He didn't try to crawl into it, but opened his mouth wide and roared with all his might:
"It’s [Heart 6]..."
BANG——!!
As soon as Feijia opened his mouth, a stroke of ink shattered his skull. His entire head disintegrated instantly, turning into countless fine blood clots that splattered across the dim floor.
Feijia’s headless body fell to the ground with a thud, motionless like mud.
The man in white carried his brush, looking at the corpse on the ground with a frown, the coldness in his eyes remaining:
"...Overestimating yourself."
Although he didn't know what Feijia intended to do, it was clear the opponent was trying to activate the array, either to escape or to transmit some information. Either way, he couldn't let him succeed.
Killing a Feijia who only had half a life left was nothing more than a flick of a finger.
The man in white glanced at the completely extinguished array, strapped his brush back onto his back, and turned to walk out of the dance hall...
He picked up his walkie-talkie and said faintly:
"[Heart 9], eliminated."
……
Elsewhere.
Chong Qi carried the unconscious Mu Chunsheng in one arm and the trembling Li Ruohong in the other, sprinting into the distance as if flying along the ground!
"Damn it... how did things turn out like this?? When did they plant the bomb?"
Chong Qi felt the terrifying aura coming from afar, his heart pounding.
In the second before the bomb exploded, Chong Qi had reacted, using his fastest speed to protect Mu Chunsheng first, then taking the brunt of the explosion head-on, and breaking through a wall to save Li Ruohong from the next room.
Mu Chunsheng had been immersed in the ecstasy of returning to health and was too close to the bomb. Even with Chong Qi’s speed, he was still hit by the shockwave and passed out on the spot. The good news was that he didn't seem to be in life-threatening danger.
"Chong, Chong, Chong, Chong... Chong Qi." Under his powerful arm, Li Ruohong, who was so scared he nearly lost control of his bladder, trembled. "Am I still alive? This isn't heaven, is it?"
"Heaven, my ass!! Don't you dare pee on me!"
Chong Qi gave him a look of disdain and said viciously.
To be honest, Chong Qi never liked this Young Master Ruohong from the start, but now that Mu Chunsheng had killed his own son, Li Ruohong was his only blood relative. Even in this situation, he couldn't abandon Li Ruohong and escape alone.
"I... I can't help it!" Li Ruohong’s voice was already tearful.
"Damn it!"
Seeing Li Ruohong’s pathetic state, Chong Qi couldn't help but curse. With this guy’s cowardly nature, how could he be [Heart 6]? Chong Qi didn't know what the situation was, but he believed there must be a misunderstanding.
Meanwhile, a giant black rock streaked across the sky like a meteor.
Chief Wang Jincheng crouched on the surface of the rock, his thick black hair blowing in the wind. His eyes were fixed on Li Ruohong in Chong Qi’s hand, murderous intent flashing in his eyes.
"[Heart 6]! Where are you running!"
He leaped off the rock, and as he grabbed the air, the rock instantly shattered into dense stone spikes, shooting toward Chong Qi behind him!
Seeing this, Chong Qi, who was sprinting at full speed, had a grim expression. He threw Li Ruohong from his left hand, freed his palm to grasp at his waist, and a cold ice sword was pulled out of thin air. He swung it hard at the sky full of stone spikes!
HUM——!!
After a low hum, the stone spikes were forcibly frozen in the air, like a fan made of frost, and finally crashed straight to the ground.
Li Ruohong, who had been thrown, rolled twice on the ground, covered in bruises. After stumbling to his feet, he cried out in pain.
"Get out of here! Run as far as you can!" Chong Qi held the ice sword, staring at the approaching Wang Jincheng, and shouted to Li Ruohong.
"Ah... oh, okay!!"
Li Ruohong came to his senses and ran for his life into the distance!
Seeing this, Wang Jincheng’s gaze was icy. "Is your Beidou Consortium trying to shield [Heart 6]?"
"What [Heart 6]." Chong Qi shook his head.
"Chief Wang, I think there’s a misunderstanding..."
