Chapter 295: The Iron Fist of Justice
Just as he was staggering forward, gazes looked down from the surrounding residential buildings, their expressions somewhat strange.
Just as Yan Shang was puzzled, a voice from upstairs suddenly rang out:
"It's him! He's Yan Shang, the Chairman of the All-Stars Chamber of Commerce!"
"He's the bastard who sells coal at sky-high prices!"
As soon as these two shouts were made, everyone in the surrounding residential buildings grabbed sticks and machetes and quickly surrounded him, casting looks of extreme anger. In just over ten seconds, the entire street was packed tight, and as more shouts rang out, even more people were rushing over.
Seeing this, Yan Shang was dumbfounded. He hadn't really shown his face in public for years, and now that he was this dirty, no one should have been able to recognize him...
Just then, Yan Shang suddenly felt that the spot everyone was looking at was a bit strange. After a moment of hesitation, he immediately took off his fur coat to look.
On the back of the fur coat, someone had written a few large characters in scarlet blood:
—I am Yan Shang!
Yan Shang: ???
"It's him!! He wanted to sell us coal for 500,000! It's this beast!"
"He's the one who had people beat my dad on Century Avenue! My dad’s leg was broken by him!"
"If someone hadn't driven the truck out and grabbed the coal, we would have already frozen to death..."
"This dog who profits from human lives... kill him!!!"
“……”
Angry roars came one after another from all around. These people’s eyes were bloodshot, and they swarmed forward like madmen, submerging him. Various weapons in their hands rained down on Yan Shang!
Yan Shang was forced to bend over in terror. The hard sticks caused sharp pain in his back with every blow, and the knives that occasionally poked out sank deep into his body. Amidst the countless foul and angry curses, his consciousness already blurred by the cold, the scene before his eyes was stained with blood.
No... no...
He knew that if this continued, he would be beaten to death alive before long!
Yan Shang’s hand gripped his last sacrificial artifact tightly—a small compass with blood vessels and black flesh attached to its surface. As he flicked the needle with his fingertip, his figure vanished into thin air the next moment!
The sticks swung down hard, but they didn't hit Yan Shang’s body. The crowd stared blankly at the empty void before them, feeling a bit lost for a moment.
"Was that... spatial movement?"
Chen Ling, standing in the distance watching this scene, narrowed his eyes slightly.
The sheer number and variety of Yan Shang’s collection were truly eye-opening for Chen Ling... But judging by the fact that Yan Shang would rather be injured than use this artifact until now, his stock must be bottoming out.
Chen Ling snorted coldly, his figure flying out through the frost and snow.
……
"I survived... I survived!!"
Covered in blood, Yan Shang stood outside the Inter-Realm Train station, his hands trembling with excitement.
The life-and-death crises along the way made Yan Shang feel as if he had walked through hell. When he finally arrived at this station, he felt a sense of relief at having survived a disaster!
"What Heart of Red 6, what Twilight Society... I, Yan Shang, started from nothing and made it to where I am today! Can I really die here so easily?!"
Yan Shang couldn't help but laugh, but it pulled at his wounds, the intense pain twisting his features.
"Damn it... those lowly commoners actually dared to hit me..."
"Commoners will always be commoners! I'm going to take the train to the south, you guys can just wait here to die!"
"A bunch of poor, useless guys, you really deserve to freeze to death."
Yan Shang cursed through the pain while staggering onto the station steps.
Just as he was about to step onto the platform, a voice suddenly came from behind him.
"Hey."
Yan Shang was startled. Before he could turn his head, a fist slammed heavily into the back of his head, knocking him to the ground!
This punch made Yan Shang’s vision go black. He groaned and tried to crawl up from the ground. Behind him, a figure with a camera hanging around his neck and paper and pen in his hand was looking down at him coldly.
"It's you...? You trash, do you deserve to sit on this train?" The figure clenched his right fist and gave Yan Shang another punch with a bang!
The hard fist knocked Yan Shang to the ground again, and a blood-stained tooth was knocked out of his mouth. He looked at the figure before him in a daze.
"You... who are you??"
"My name is Wen Shilin, I'm a reporter."
The figure slowly took the camera from his neck and the paper and pen from his hand, placing them aside, and walked over slowly. "You might not know me, but as for you, Chairman Yan... I’ve learned quite a bit."
Hearing the name Wen Shilin, Yan Shang felt it sounded familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had heard it... Before he could say anything else, another iron fist of justice smashed into his cheek!
Bang—!!
The force of this punch was greater than the previous two, shattering half of Yan Shang’s teeth and making him see stars.
"The iron fist of justice might be late, but it will never be absent." Wen Shilin shook his hand, which was aching from the blow, and spoke in a deep voice. "Since my news didn't manage to finish you off... then I'll finish you off right now!"
Wen Shilin let out a low roar and swung his fist at Yan Shang again. Just as the wind of the punch whistled, Yan Shang suddenly pulled out a gun, the muzzle pointing straight at Wen Shilin’s forehead!
Wen Shilin’s fist stopped in mid-air.
"Damn it... after all that, I thought you were that Heart of Red 6 in disguise, but you're a real reporter?" Yan Shang spat out the blood and broken teeth from his mouth and struggled to climb up. "Guns don't work on Red 6, but can't I deal with a commoner like you?"
Yan Shang spoke viciously. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, his vision suddenly blurred!
The next moment, the gun in his hand had turned into a piece of coal.
Yan Shang stared in shock at the piece of coal in his hand. As if thinking of something, a deep fear... and final despair appeared in his eyes.
He knew that man had come again...

Wen Shilin looked at this scene in a daze, not understanding what had happened. Just then, he heard footsteps coming from behind him.
A figure in a brown trench coat walked slowly up the station steps. He toyed casually with the black gun, his eyes flashing with mockery and cold killing intent.
"It's you... it's you again!!" Yan Shang roared hysterically. "Why must you kill me?! You've already destroyed everything I have! What would it hurt to let me go? I swear I'll never go against you for the rest of my life, okay... why must you push me to the brink?!"
Under the successive tortures, Yan Shang’s psychological defenses had completely collapsed. Chen Ling gave him hope again and again, and again and again pushed him into the abyss with his own hands... This torture was no different from a slow, agonizing execution!
The figure sneered, the pitch-black muzzle rising to aim at Yan Shang’s desperate eyes.
"Someone like you... is worthy of being my opponent?"
Bang, bang, bang—!
Successive gunshots echoed in Wen Shilin’s ears. Before his very eyes, Yan Shang’s head turned into red and white fireworks, splashing onto the station steps.
