Chapter 455: The Sun and Moon Illuminate Mountains and Rivers (Part Fourteen)
The Mountain and River Sect
The spiritual rain fell incessantly.
Even the highest-grade spirit stones couldn't compare to the concentration of spiritual energy here.
The Mountain and River Sect was now considered the holy land among holy lands of cultivation.
However, the changes in the Mountain and River Sect didn't stop there.
Elder Yan was in seclusion when he was suddenly struck by a ball of light. A flash of inspiration struck him, and his cultivation broke through to the Void Realm, comparable to the Great Yan Emperor.
His good fortune didn't end there.
While doing a quest, he came across a mountain filled with spiritual light, which he discovered was a fruit.
After consuming the fruit, not only did he regain his youth, his white hair turning black, and his old age transforming into youth, but his cultivation also broke through several levels.
Back at the sect, he was finally able to understand one of the cultivation techniques in the inner sect's library... the Great Grade Heavenly Evolution Scripture, a sacred text!
All of this almost made Elder Yan faint completely. He was afraid it was all a dream, and that when he woke up, nothing would remain.
Fortunately, this wasn't a dream.
Such good fortune wasn't limited to Elder Yan.
From the sect elders to the lowest-ranking disciples, everyone encountered some form of good fortune, receiving treasures, divine weapons, and cultivation techniques.
Even the fire dragon guarding the gate had gained weight from eating roadside grass these past few days.
Heaven knows what kind of miserable life it endured in the Great Yan Dynasty?
Its food wasn't even as good as the grass from the outer sect.
Inside the Library
A year had passed since Han Xiyue arrived at the Library.
The Library truly had a fourth floor.
The fourth floor was invisible and intangible.
Han Xiyue was immersed in it. She felt many incomprehensible things laid out before her, things she couldn't comprehend no matter how hard she tried.
But Han Xiyue refused to give up. She knew that there must be an immense opportunity within.
...
In the back mountains
Su Chen sighed softly, "Will she ultimately reach that level?"
If Han Xiyue could grasp even a rudimentary understanding of those things, she could go very far... Unfortunately, Han Xiyue's aptitude and comprehension were too poor; she was just an ordinary person.
Some things, ultimately, cannot be forced.
Su Chen pointed.
In the end, he chose to intervene. As for where Han Xiyue would ultimately go, it was up to her own fate.
...
Inside the library
Suddenly, a stream of fire, like a star, fell and struck Han Xiyue's mind.
Han Xiyue vaguely felt something new appear in her mind.
And her body seemed to undergo some kind of change.
She didn't know what kind of change it was.
Less than a month after emerging from seclusion, her cultivation also broke through to the Void Realm.
The realm that her father, the previous sect leader of the Mountain and River Sect, had never broken through until his death, was so easily surpassed by her.
Han Xiyue felt a mix of emotions.
She thought to herself, "If only Father had chosen to persevere a little longer..."
........
Ling Jiuxiao could also sense the changes in the Mountain and River Sect.
He'd been incredibly lucky lately, not only finding the third fragment of the Devouring Heaven and Earth Divine Art, but also encountering tremendous opportunities wherever he went, leading to a rapid surge in his cultivation.
While he'd encountered opportunities wherever he went before,
the frequency seemed to have increased now.
Ling Jiuxiao's cultivation successfully broke through to the Nirvana Realm.
Meanwhile, the Elder, having been baptized by the Seven-Leaf Divine Tree, was now able to manifest a phantom soul, no longer merely residing in Ling Jiuxiao's mind.
Late at night
Su Chen saw Ling Jiuxiao again.
This guy really doesn't follow the usual path.
A figure floated out from Ling Jiuxiao's body.
"Yuan Huang greets fellow Daoist."
The Elder looked at Su Chen's indifferent expression.
He muttered to himself, "Could it be that he hasn't heard of my name? That shouldn't be the case."
Su Chen merely nodded slightly, then looked at Ling Jiuxiao and said, "Are you leaving the Sun and Moon Continent?"
Ling Jiuxiao nodded, "Sect Master, you are indeed omniscient."
"My cultivation level is unlikely to improve much if I stay on the Sun and Moon Continent. Therefore, I wish to leave the Sun and Moon Continent to see the geniuses of other places and compete for a path to ultimate strength."
Su Chen slowly said, "That's a good thing. You want to leave the Mountain and River Sect to hone your skills; this is a path every strong person must take."
"However... you'd better not disgrace the Mountain and River Sect."
Ling Jiuxiao said, "Sect Master, rest assured, I will certainly not disgrace you."
Su Chen thought this young man had a good eye; perhaps he could consider grooming him as the next Sect Master.
Ling Jiuxiao pulled out a branch from behind him: "This is the Sect Master's possession. I was lucky enough to find it, and now it should be returned to its rightful owner."
Ling Jiuxiao's eyes showed some reluctance. However, he knew that this power, capable of easily slaughtering saints, was ultimately not his. If he relied too much on this power, he would ultimately fall into a lower realm.
Su Chen glanced around, then said, "It's alright. There's only my last bit of sword energy left here. It might be able to save your life in case of danger."
"It's always good for sect disciples to have more options when they're out in the world."
Ling Jiuxiao was overjoyed upon hearing this. He knew perfectly well the power of the tree branch—the ability to slaughter Great Saints like dogs—it was undoubtedly the best means of self-preservation.
At least…it was more reliable than the old man in his mind.
Leaving the back mountain
The elder was still lost in doubt.
“Why doesn’t this guy recognize my name?”
Faced with the elder’s confusion, Ling Jiuxiao forced a smile: “Perhaps…elder, your reputation has been gradually buried in this era, becoming history.”
The elder said: “That’s impossible!”
“Boy, once you leave the Sun and Moon Continent, you will know what kind of person I am!”
Ling Jiuxiao chuckled.
However, he ultimately set off, leaving the Sun and Moon Continent to embark on a new journey!
........
Mountain and River Sect
Three years had passed since Ling Jiuxiao left the Sun and Moon Continent.
In the back mountain
All the plants and animals trembled, prostrate on the ground.
They sensed that for a fleeting moment, they had almost vanished from this world.
And the source of all this was merely a young man sitting atop a cliff atop a sea of clouds.
Su Chen opened his eyes, gazing down upon the entire world. At this moment, his cultivation had finally entered a new realm—the Emperor Realm.
Yet his Emperor status did not cause a tremor throughout the universe.
He no longer needed external phenomena as proof; he himself was 'Heaven'!
Su Chen squinted, looking down at a tree.
At that moment, the tree was actually trembling slightly.
"He's discovered me... Has he discovered me?"
Fortunately, the gaze quickly shifted away from the tree.
Su Chen's gaze drifted into the distance, and in the dim distance, a shooting star seemed to be crashing down from the golden ocean.
"A True Immortal reincarnated..."
