Chapter 128: Gods in High Martial Arts (Part 4)
"You're looking for me?"
Su Chen indifferently surveyed the crowd below.
His gaze was like that of someone looking at a group of dead men.
The man chained like a dog suddenly became agitated upon seeing Su Chen's appearance. He stammered, tears welling in his eyes, but couldn't utter a single word, his mouth gushing blood.
The burly men of the Black Tiger Gang knew that this young man was the one they were looking for.
But now, they couldn't feel any joy.
Because this person could fly... In this world, only sixth-tier King-level experts can fly.
"No, you can't be a sixth-tier expert. You have wings. Sixth-tier experts don't fly with wings. You must have received some kind of inheritance!"
The tattooed man, seeing the pair of wings on Su Chen's back, realized what was happening, his eyes filled with greed.
If he could obtain such an inheritance, would he still be confined to a small Black Tiger Gang?
The enormous profits involved would even tempt a legendary sixth-tier King-level expert!
The next moment, however, the tattooed man saw the boy in the sky disappear. A few wisps of wind brushed past, and he felt a warm sensation on his face. He instinctively reached up and touched it; it was covered in crimson blood. He looked down at the ground, his previous excitement turning to icy coldness, as if he had fallen into a freezer.
A familiar face stared at him, its eyes wide with disbelief.
It was his subordinate.
The tattooed man stiffly turned around. He was the only one left standing among the Black Tiger Gang members.
"Take me to the Black Tiger Gang's lair."
The tattooed man was about to show his steely resolve when a knife was pressed against his neck. The sharpness of the blade and the sticky, moist blood made him swallow his words.
"Sir...it's alright."
He didn't want to die.
The man on the ground crawled laboriously to Su Chen, knelt down, and repeatedly kowtowed, stammering as if pleading for something.
"Why bother?"
Su Chen lowered his head and said calmly, "Because of your selfishness, those who should have lived have died."
"You want my help, but this is all your retribution, karma reaping what you sow."
Su Chen abandoned the man.
Leaving behind only the sound of wailing cries.
Su Chen felt no pity.
He had already given these people a chance to live.
Su Chen led the tattooed man to the entrance of the dwarf cavern passage.
Many new corpses lay at the entrance, all belonging to adventurers who had entered the cavern.
Now they had been killed by the Black Tiger Gang, not even a piece of clothing left on their bodies.
Black Tiger Gang members guarded the entrance as well, but in Su Chen's eyes, they were no different from ants.
"Sir, they didn't know the situation in the cavern; they were just following orders."
"Sir, please spare them!"
The tattooed man pleaded, watching his brothers die one by one.
Su Chen shook his head.
"I'll let them go. What do those who died at their hands because of their ignorance matter?"
Su Chen fought his way out of the cave. By the time the people outside reacted and tried to close the Xuan Iron Gate, it was too late.
"He is one of the thirteen hall masters of my Black Tiger Gang,"
the tattooed man pointed to a man and introduced him to Su Chen.
"Ah Gou, you actually betrayed my Black Tiger Gang!"
The man with the mustache looked extremely grim as he watched the tattooed man lead a boy out of the cave.
Su Chen was already standing in front of him.
"Why did you collude with the dwarves and harm your own people?"
Su Chen held a knife directly to his neck.
The mustachioed man gave a bitter laugh: "They were fools, trying to find resources in the dwarven caves, not realizing they were our resources. The caves are always dangerous; it's reasonable for a few people to die exploring them."
Su Chen shook his head.
"You're lying."
The mustachioed man's pupils constricted sharply. Before he could struggle, Su Chen decapitated him.
Su Chen closed the passage to the dwarven caves.
Guided by the tattooed man, he headed straight for the Black Tiger Gang's headquarters.
Inside the Black Tiger Gang, Su Chen moved as if he owned the place.
"You're the third leader of the Black Tiger Hall?"
Standing before Su Chen was an elderly man with graying hair and wearing a monocle.
This was a powerful expert at the ninth level of the Spirit Sea Realm.
"Young man, don't be so arrogant."
The old man narrowed his eyes, and a three-eyed black snake appeared behind him.
Su Chen slashed with his sword, splitting the three-eyed black snake in two, turning it into a cloud of black mist. The old man suddenly coughed up blood and flew backward.
The next moment, the old man felt a chill on his neck.
"Do I have the right to be arrogant now?"
The old man sighed: "The younger generation surpasses the older."
"What do you want to ask?"
Su Chen said calmly: "Tell me, why did you collude with the dwarves and murder humans?"
The old man laughed: "It's nothing more than profit."
Su Chen shook his head: "You're lying, but I don't care about that."
Su Chen killed the old man and continued deeper into the Black Tiger Hall.
The second leader was not there.
Su Chen located the location of the Grand Hall Master.
The Grand Hall Master was a fifth-tier Spirit Soul Realm expert.
Su Chen noticed that the statue enshrined there wasn't a god or Buddha, but rather a dwarf.
"You're surprised?"
The Grand Hall Master caught the astonishment in Su Chen's eyes.
Then, with a hint of madness, he said, "Dwarves are the gods of our Black Tiger Hall. The purpose of our Black Tiger Hall's existence is to serve the dwarves and provide them with sacrifices."
This time, he wasn't lying.
Su Chen, thinking of the Jiang family who had sacrificed generations for Longxia, asked a question:
"The dwarves, such a weak race..."
"Why would you willingly become slaves of the dwarves?"
The Grand Master laughed, a bitter laugh laced with sorrow: "You don't understand...you completely don't understand. Behind every underground cave and celestial cave stands a god. Only our human race has no god behind us. Even the weakest dwarves have divine protection..."
"Humans will eventually be devoured, becoming slaves to others. Although the dwarves are weak, with the help of gods, they will eventually become a powerful race. Then, my Black Tiger Gang will submit to a divine favor, preserving the last spark of humanity."
The Grand Master took a deep breath and murmured, "I've told you so much so that you can die knowing why. Now you can die."
Su Chen suddenly felt both laughable and pathetic.
"Gods? Those are nothing but a bunch of pathetic worms clinging to life after their defeat."
Why are there no forbidden-bound beings forcing humans to believe?
That's because the only emperor in the universe today is a human!
Those things that powerful beings in the forbidden zones dare not do,
are considered abandoned...weak...
Su Chen wielded his blade, unleashing the Heavenly Gang Blade Control Technique. A dazzling blade light flashed before the Grand Hall Master's eyes.
The entire Black Tiger Hall was razed to the ground with a single strike.
Su Chen looked at the tattooed man beside him.
"You recognize my identity?"
Faced with Su Chen's words, the tattooed man nodded.
"You are Commander Jiang's son."
"I know I won't survive today...but I know you, perhaps you can change this world."
The tattooed man coughed up blood, muttering his last words: "Be...be careful...the Heavenly God Sect..."
Under Su Chen's gaze, the tattooed man turned into a cloud of blood mist.
